What Is Cycle Speedway
Cycle Speedway is a sport that is not that well publicised in Britain. It is similar to the more commonly known sport of Motorbike Speedway. However it uses push bikes instead of motorcycles. It is a sport open to all ages and abilities. There are clubs all accross the country that compete against each other in various championships throughout the year, including individual championships for different age categories.
Riders race in pairs from each team around an oval track for 4 laps. They then score points as follows.
1st Place - 4 Points
2nd Place - 3 Points
3rd Place - 2 Points
4th Place - 1 Point
Then at the end of the meeting the points are added up and the team with the most points wins.
