The above pages and paragraphs are extracts from the book I am writing 'WINDMILL CRAZY'. It is designed as a travelogue of my exploits and a technical overview of windmills that I visited and of which no two would seem to be the identical. About the people that I met and pointed me in the direction of sites that I had not known of before and some stories that tell of mill related and sometimes horrific deaths.

Readers would follow me on me journey and gradually learn all the technical jargon and working of these fine windmills as I did , some fortunately still in working order, some now derelict and others that still exist due to careful conversions into dwellings. By the end of the general text it is hoped that the reader will appreciate these historic monuments from our past with a better understanding of them, the millers and others associated with them and of course have enjoyed the book itself.

The book will also have an appendix with photographs of many of the locations I visited together with as much data that I found or may even yet find on them.
